Title in Japanese : 列車がきます
"After several years photographing Japan, my initial admiration - a generic one - transformed into a specific interest for the rail roads. High-speed trains (shinkansen), express (tokkyu), semi-express (juntokkyu), local lines (futsu), private lines (shitetsu), metro lines, etc. The rail transport mode is an important part of the infrastructures and is a fundamental tool of the economic development. It is also a central element in Japanese culture, and the love of the people for their railroad networks is felt really strongly.
In the spring 2015, I published my first book ressha ga kimasu. Fifty photographs, fragments of memories to recreate a reality, create a world within the world. Through a glance full of nostalgia, I tried to tell my Japan, a Japan of darkness and silence, a Japan of the passage of time and absence, with the underlying theme of the rail road and its machines, at times muses, at times friends. This book has been designed to slowly reveal the location, the story, and its ending, to the viewer in a cinematographic manner. Time is the key element here...
