"22:19 illustrates the wide range of emotions - fear, boredom, camaraderie, relief - that two young men have experienced during an intense 8-minute period.
This book has been designed to slowly reveal the location, the story, and its ending, to the viewer in a cinematographic manner.
Time is the key element here and allows the photographer to play with the viewer's perceptions and ultimately demonstrate the power of the photography book in the digital age. Millions of people have consumed images of this event in various media formats but very few could have appreciated the breadth of emotions experienced by the protagonists during these 8 minutes.
This book allows the photographer to recount his version of the event and to simultaneously pay tribute to both the arts of photography and cinematography."
Christopher Hery, for his first assignment as a reporter at the Cannes Festival, and for his first night on the red carpet, attended an 8-minute marathon during which the 150 photographers present litterally inundated the actor Ryan Gosling and the director Nicolas Winding Refn with their flashes, just before the projection of their movie "Drive" in 2011.
The photographer got the images that he had come to make, but the experience was also very intense and striking for him. The noise, the flashes, the photographers yelling or pushing you to prevent you from making the perfect image... and these "two young men", at the center of all attentions for 8 long minutes !
In front of all the images he had made that night, Christopher Hery realized the intensity of this moment as lived and experienced by the two men, and understood the rich range of emotions he had captured in his images...
This book is a journey in levitation in this moment of the lives of these "two young men". A journey in their own lives, and a journey they had to share. A moment we can all imagine, as we all have seen it on TV or online, a frenetic moment, a crazy moment, something unbelievable; but a moment that the "two young men" cross without really moving, as in slow motion, just experiencing and feeling all this craze revolving around them.
A great and fascinating book. A book in four colors: black, red, blue, white. A book that necessarily has a linear narrative, but a book that takes us on a real journey, and a kind of crazy one, but a very deep and personal journey.

Some time ago I decided to rethink some of my projects and realize them in a new, more concentrated form of zines. In almost half a year I managed to implement this idea and today I am...

Text Calligraphy of an Enigma by Fabien Ribéry : "This is the story of a chance encounter, a mad love, a path of desire connecting East and West. It is a story of grace, a story of flights that mustn’t be late. It is the music of the heart, the beating drum, set in the no-man’s land between empty and full, full and empty. Olivier Brossard has put together...
