" With this third volume The Atlas des Régions Naturelles Vol.3 (Atlas of Natural Regions Vol.3), Eric Tabuchi and Nelly Monnier follow on their long-term project initiated in 2017: documenting the 450 natural regions or 'lands' that compose the territory of France. An extraordinary photographic adventure set to unfold over several years, publishing one new volume every six months.

While traveling and roaming these small geographical and cultural entities that are sometimes obsolete to the administration and its redistricting of the French territory, the duo collects visual elements of what makes a region or 'land'. They indiscriminately associate distinctive elements of identity created by people - traditional architecture, toponyms, local esthetics, traces of History - and the natural elements such as landscapes and landscape lines, colors, plants, etc.

Across all the regions, the authors also offer entries by themes that are formal typologies, such as Training architecture, Dancing Clubs, Public Geometries and Infrasculptures in the present volume. Spread out across the whole territory of France, these categories transcend the Natural Regions and illustrate the complexity of France as an entity.

Within 384 pages and over 500 images, L'Atlas des Régions Naturelles Vol. 3 offers 12 « portraits » of Natural Regions, punctuated by 4 theme entries.

The chapters for this third volume are : Pays d'Auge, Brie, Camargue, Training Architecture, Cézallier, Combrailles, Côte des Bar, Dancing Clubs, Pays de Montbéliard, Outre-Forêt, Revermont, Public Geometry, Rochefortais, Pays de Serres, Pays toulousain, Infrasculptures. "

This photobook is co-published by Poursuite and GwinZegal. As for each volume, the book includes a tipped-in map serving as index for the regions presented in the volume.

Virtually no text, outside of chapter headers and captions, but all in French only.

A project led by Eric Tabuchi and Nelly Monnier. You should DEFINITELY check the website created for this project, a real wonder: Archive ARN.

We are also offering copies of the first volume and of the second volume of this project.
