Harry Gruyaert is a Belgian photographer, he joined Magnum Photos in 1982.
Harry Gruyaert is known as one of the first modern phographers using color in Europe, as seen especially in his book Roots (Xavier Barral, 2012 & 2018) which brings us back to the Belgium of the seventies and eigthies.

Harry Gruyaert has photographed his homeland a lot (Rivages, Textuel, 2003), but also Morocco, India, Egypt. He is also knwon for having photographed in the seventies the Munich Olympic Games and the Apollo mission - in color - on a television set (TV Shots, Steidl, 2007).
More recently, he also published the book East / West (Textuel / Thames & Hudson, 2017) which gathers is a two-volume set color images of Moscow in the first part, and of Las Vegas and Los Angeles in the second part.
