Presentation on the artist's website :

"All over the world, we see the spontaneous rise of so-called « arrival communities ». Here, migrants find all they need to take their first steps in the new world they arrived in: networks of compatriots, (relatively) cheap housing & (mostly) informal labour.

The book Halfway Home is a visual research on the textual position of being Halfway Home; literally in between two (or more) worlds. The book looks deeper into the visual resemblances between the destination and the places of origin and looks to what extent the transient character of the inhabitants gives form to the environment."
