Presentation by Art Paper Editions:

Cabin Fever is the first publication of New-York based artist Katie Burnett, and was developed in a very playful and intuitive way. Burnett investigated the possibilities of her own environment and self.

Cabin Fever is a 80-page photographic display of self-portraiture, but not the usual kind. Within the title, Burnett messes with contrast and composition to vast extremes, meaning that sometimes her imagery becomes unrecognisable. Other times, one can plainly see that her two cats are in the picture, or that she used rubber bands, ramen noodles, sprinklers and everyday household items to merge into her abstract vision.

Moving and making go hand in hand in Burnetts way of working, and she shows the viewer how the medium of photography can be pure joy. "

Editing and design : Jurgen Maelfeyt & Katie Burnett. The dustjacket unfolds as a poster.
