Martin Bogren quickly enlarged his photographic universe. Travel encounters (Notes, 2008, Italia, 2016), joy of the first discoveries (Ocean, 2008), or spleen of adolescents (Lowlands, 2011, Tractors boys, 2013, Embraces, 2014): his series reveal the impatient desire to escape boredom, to discover an elsewhere. He approaches his subjects with the distance of a silent witness, subtle and benevolent observer, and delivers his photographs of a grainy black and white, in all shades of gray.
Martin Bogren "manages not to disturb the world in which he enters on the tip of the eye, with modesty, with attention and acuteness, with respect also, without any judgment, holding his breath (...) We think of all these photographers who, from Robert Franck, from Anders Petersen to Michael Ackerman, were able to give us their visions by telling us that they did not want to demonstrate anything but that they needed to show and to say." (Christian Caujolle, preface to the book Tractor Boys, 2013)
Winner of numerous national awards and prizes in Sweden, his work is recognized internationally and is among several prestigious collections - including those of the Forografiska Museet (Stockholm), the Oregon Art Museum (Portland) and the National Library of France (Paris).
