Presentation by the artist on the publisher's website :

"Summer 2013. I leave for Ukraine with Florence. No real destination. We're improvising. Kiev. Night train to Crimea. We meet Vlad and Anna at Simferopol. Together, we spend time near the Black Sea. We walk a lot. We sleep outside. It's very hot. We move often. Just the two of us, we go farther into the west of the country. Odessa, Vylkove, the Carpathians, Lviv. A few encounters. Several weeks wandering. Not understanding a thing to the language. Enthralled by everything we see.

The images born form this journey do not belong to anything happening. They testify of the strange atmosphere of a country in expectation, of a country of the « in-between ». Etymologically, Ukraine (україна) refers to the frontier."
