Presentation by D'une rive à l'autre: [translation L'Ascenseur Végétal]
" The photography series « I would like you to see me » created in 2015 by Arianna Sanesi, about femicide in Italy, at a time when the word was barely used and the phenomenon was essentially ignored by the media, is the starting point of this photobook and of the encounter between Arianna's images and the texts of historians Lydie Bodiou and Frédéric Chauvaud.
Their dialogue provides the necessary light to whomever wishes to understand how words and images can offer new perpectives on one of the most important problem of our times: femicide and domestic violence against women. "
The book is made of two separate signatures bound together through a Z-shape cover; each signature with its own Singer binding. TEXTS IN FRENCH ONLY.
An introduction video to the project, and to the book, by the authors, is available here. IN FRENCH ONLY.
The images presented here were taken from Arianna Sanesi's website.
