Presentation by Editions Bessard:

" What is this body wearing traces of my pregnancy, my plumpness, my body deformity where only the slightest change can lead to mental distress? Who is this stranger with whom I mutate, finding ourselves in a cellular osmosis evolving together, speaking to each other through our skin, losing ourselves, trusting each other, loving each other, consoling each other?

And what if I was only aware of my pregnancy through the look of this being? A look that lives the same story as I do. Would that be the key to the evolution of my body that belongs to me but that I don't control? For together we can do away with the fear of the unknown and play with our emotions filtered from the outside, becoming memories to share, marking our skin, welding our souls, my fetus, my flesh.

In a dark room where one can see a subdued light, I explore the links between the mother and the unborn child, and the conscious and unconscious communication throughout nine months of pregnancy.

This intimate, poetic and almost psychoanalytical pictorial series of the moment a mother becomes vestal is derived from a desire to strengthen links between the mother and her future child. In this sense, the gaze is projected in a game of resonance between two separate bodies but linked by an unconscious magic. These photographs evoke a quest for the future mother and a quest for self, where each figure appropriates their body in their own way in a dark ultrasound atmosphere where almost statuary bodies communicate with solemnity and power.

In Foetu is a testimony of a pregnant woman. "
