Éditions Bessard are more and more looking towards China, and offer us for this Zine Collection No. 8 a beautiful journey called My dreamed stream, that of a return to the land of its ancestors by the artist Wei Bi.
As he was having difficult moments in the city, Wei Bi decided to return visit his native countryside and the village where his family has been living for ages. Mengxi is the name of that village (meaning "Dreaming of streams"), and in this familiar place he photographed the people, farmers and craftsmen, and the land of his youth.
As usual by Éditions Bessard, a beautiful little book where the images are "naturally" mixed or intertwined with calligraphy.
In this Zine Collection series of small but really beautiful books, L'Ascenseur Végétal also offers titles by the following artists : Zhu Mo (No. 3 - The Emptiness), Max Pam (No. 4 - Burma), Roman Pyatkovka (No. 5 - Scheme), Brian Griffin (No. 6 - Business as Usual) and Bernard Plossu (No. 7 - Un Roman Gris).
