Publisher's presentation:

"The Sensation of Falling contains nine series from 1980s to 2015 and focuses on human identity expressed through the body.

Stina Brockman belongs to the group of artists who create a personal world of understanding. Her technical mastery, her integrity, and the deep emotional impact of her photographs are striking. She highlights what is hidden beneath what we call normal.

She explores aspects of masculinity – somewhat obscure yet oddly revealed through attitudes and personal expression. Brockman shows the inner landscape of male sensitivities and vulnerabilities, as well as dimensions of aggression. Often, she focuses on what is lacking, and in that way reveals intuitively feminine taboos about masculinity.

Brockman’s artistic work is an ongoing movement between a living tradition and a search for new esthetic expressions in a very fruitful interaction.

Brockman’s work is well known in Sweden where she has exhibited in the most renowned art centers and museums, among them Åmells Fine Art Dealer, Moderna Museet, in Stockholm, Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg, Museum of Art & Hasselblad Foundation in Gothenburg, Moderna Museet in Malmö."
