Carmen Winant is an American artist and writer (she contributes to several publications, including Aperture), assistant professor in "Visual Studies and Contemporary Art History" at the "Columbus College of Art and Design", Ohio.

In her art practice, she specializes in the often contradictory promise of contemporary feminist politics. Her work has been on display in many American institutions. Her series My Birth of photographs of pregnant women before, during and after delivery is part of the exhibition "Being: New Photography 2018" at the MoMA, New York until August 19th, 2018.
Carmen Winant published two photobooks of collected photographs : My Life as a Man (Horses Think Press, 2015) and My Birth (Self-Publish, Be Happy, 2018).
