After We English, Simon Roberts follows in the same tracks of visual documentation of England's (and Britain's) specific elements : what makes England, England, and Britain, Britain. For the Pierdom project, the artist photographed each of the 58 remaining piers of Britain, in a very still manner, like if it were a work of portraiture. Only the vantage point varies, bringing a dynamic flow to a series otherwise very still.
A very beautiful set of photographs.

The book includes at the beginning an historic background on the building of the piers, with a localisation map; and at the end of the book, each pier is presented in more details.
