Wuhan Boiler Company Workers, published in 2009, is a "corporate book". Continuing his engagement with China's industrial culture, Pierre Bessard fashions portraits of the oft-overlooked people behind the nation's tremendous economic growth. The series comprises hundreds of color photographs of factory workers, as well as the surroundings in which the laborers work.

This is a beautifully produced book (linen hardcover with a pasted cover photograph), presented in a linen clamshell box with a second cover image pasted.

You can find a review in French of this book on the French blog Des Livres et des Photos, and another in English on the US blog The Photobook.

This book is listed in "The Chinese Photobook: From the 1900s to the Present" by Martin Parr &  WassinkLundgren to be published in June 2015.
