Paul Graham (born 1956) is an English fine-art and documentary photographer. His portraits and street scenes share a common subject matter, but also underly issues such as racial and social inequality, the texture of everyday life, and the nature of sight, perception, and photography itself.

Exhibited, published and collected worldwide


Graham has been a prolific and well published artist, including three survey monographs, by Mack (2015), SteidlMack (2009) and Phaidon (1996), along with 17 other publications.


His fine art photography has been exhibited extensively – notably participating in the Italian Pavilion of the 49th Venice Biennale (2001), the inaugural exhibition at Switzerland's national Fotomuseum Winterthur, and most recently a solo exhibition at New York's Museum of Modern Art. He was one of the 24 photographers included in the Tate Gallery's landmark "Cruel and Tender" survey exhibition of 20th century photography (2003).


Graham has been granted many awards over his carreer among which the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize, the Hasselblad Award, a W. Eugene Smith Grant, ... and he won the Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards prize for best photographic book of the past 15 years.
