Balkan Pank, is the Punk, Rock and New Wave scene in Ljubljana, former Yugoslavia between1979 and1989, as seen in the eyes of a comic book artist wannabee who had just discovered a passion for photography, Jože Suhadolnik.

In this book, a few guitars, but mostly the crowd of people who attend the shows, people dancing and yelling, or that sit quietly along the walls, and mostly people drinking, making faces in front of the camera, restrooms full of graffitis that look really smelly, confrontations that will inevitably turn into fights... An atmosphere and a type of crowd that one might encounter - very similar - today, but no, those were the 70s & 80s, this was the time and place to be, this was the Ramones and Nick Cave, the Pixies and the early Sonic Youth !

Suhadolnik's photography is in Black & White (of course?), it is grainy and approximate, it is full of energy and frenetic, it is at the heart of the action!

Please note that the Limited Edition of this book, with a hand-made "coptic binding" (see the "Suggestions" tab) is now sold out.

WARNING: Please note that the images in the carrousel of the interior of the book are taken from the Limited Edition (it opens fully and was easier to photograph).
